The library at Samuel Gilbert Public School is continually developed to meet the education needs of the staff and to develop students as life-long learners. It has a comprehensive collection of resources that provides students and teachers with a wide range of print, multi-media and electronic resources to support the curriculum.
Each week all classes visit the library for a scheduled lesson with the teacher librarian. The library is open at lunch times Monday to Friday for students to exchange books and enjoy recreational activities such as reading, drawing, board games and educational computer games.
Samuel Gilbert Public School encourages student participation in the NSW Premier's Reading Challenge. For more information about this initiative please visit PRC. The library also runs an annual Book Fair designed to fundraise for new books for our school and to further inspire a love of reading.
